Covid 19 threw us all.

It is no secret

It is no secret, Covid hit our shores in 2020.  We had had a niggly shadow since.  Covid has made us wonder what to plan, where to holiday, who is what and discussions.  The first lockdown got me really nervous, when I look back I think it was because I myself had never gone through anything like this.

We all had a learning curve with living with a disease.

Here is where Eco Lou was born.  Eco lou come from time and exploration, it come from trying to cheer up friends and family,

Strange times are times of new beginnings but a optimistic note.

I did pick a odd time to start something in 2020.  I am not ashamed at all, as it gave me a lot of direction and release.  My job at IHC was particularly stressful.  Many demands I had to meet and help relieve some of that horrible change that some just cannot handle.  What I did right, was share my journey with these good people.  I shared what I tried each day, what I purchased to try, how much it all cost. The fun part was I did some learning with my clients, it really helped me have some fun.  I got these little packs of pre done lye and oil and all you needed to add was oil, colour, scent and shape so many of these people have great memories from this time.    Also it had a flow on effect, since I was making soap with them  they all got lots of soap to try in turn not having to buy any which gave their budgets a boost and some fun too.  Is it not true, it is not about the disaster that is around you but how you bounce.  I bounced and I am still bouncing, I am sick of it like everyone but like everyone else knows we are not in control of a mandkind pandemic.

So I am not sorry at all I involved my IHC team, actually we all have some great soap making experiences and candle making experiences, so there covid take that!

My first candles I made looked like these!

This was a cheap jar I thought they were cute, I learned as time went on that amber was a great way to protect candle wax which is why there is a new type now.

Moving forward to 2021.

Wow a whole new set of weeks are coming, 365 days to explore, grow and evolve.  So I am moving into 2021 at some pace.  I have had some time off, truth told I needed it.  To stop and let yourself have whatever thoughts are due is such a breath of fresh air, on top my kids have their own plans so I really only worry about myself a home and my fella.  (27 years strong)  So Eco Lou has a year to prove itself.  I have given myself till the end of this year to see If I can evolve my business.  I have sold lots of dog soap, (also other soaps) dog soap is my winning product this year.  As I was new to promoting it I charged a reasonable $4.00 on facebook. I made small bars mainly because it lasts so long and it is easier to wash a dog with a small piece than a big one.  I am taking of products that gained no momentum and fine tuning, It is fun.  I have learned new recipes, which have quicker turn around times and given me much to think about.

I am excited for what 2022 will bring.    I am keen to try new things and try a new set of products , things I like like I was thinking of after shower body oil, I use it and love it and I think you all will too, so guys n galls watch this space I have so much more evolving to do.
